As well as cookies, our website stores small pieces of information in your browser ("local storage" and "session storage") and can record how pages are used. The same rules apply to all of these, and we group them below by purpose.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These are needed for the website to work, so they don't need your consent.

session_id (local storage): Keeps your basket; How long: Until you clear it; baskets are removed from our system after 60 days without activity
cookieConsent (local storage): Remembers your cookie choices; How long: 12 months, or until we change what we ask
base44_access_token (local storage) and sign-in cookies: Keeps you signed in securely; How long: Until you sign out or the session expires
terms_gate_skip_session (session storage): Stops the updated-terms notice repeating during this visit; How long: Until you close the tab

Analytics: visit statistics and session recordings (only with your consent)

These help us understand how the shop is used so we can improve it. They only run if you switch on "Analytics" in the cookie banner, and you can switch them off at any time.

Our own visit statistics: pages viewed, products viewed, basket and checkout steps, device type, browser, language and time zone. If you are signed in, these are linked to your account. We do not store your IP address in these statistics.
Session recordings (provided by our hosting provider, Base44): a replay of how you used the site, such as pages, scrolling, clicks and taps, plus technical details like your browser, loading speed and errors. This includes basket, checkout, account and order pages. Everything you type into forms, email addresses, and the names, addresses, phone numbers and messages shown on those pages are hidden. If you are signed in, the recording is linked to your account. Recordings are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. The recording software is loaded from the unpkg public code service. If you switch Analytics on, recording starts from the next page you open; if you switch it off, recording stops straight away.

analytics_session_id and related (session storage): Groups the pages you view into one visit; How long: 30 minutes of inactivity, or until you close the tab
Session recording data (sent to Base44): Replay of your visit, with form entries and emails hidden; How long: 30 days
_ga, _ga_* (cookies): Google Analytics: tells visits apart and keeps session state; How long: Up to 2 years

Marketing and advertising (only with your consent)

We don't currently use any advertising or conversion-tracking cookies. If we add them in future (for example Google Ads or Meta), they will only run if you switch on "Marketing" in the cookie banner, and we will list them here first.

3. Other Services

Stripe sets its own cookies on its secure payment page to process payments and prevent fraud.
Cloudflare Turnstile may be used on forms to stop spam.
Google provides Google Analytics (only with your consent).

When you first visit our website, you will be shown a cookie banner asking for your consent. You can choose to:

Accept All: switches on analytics (visit statistics and session recordings) and marketing
Necessary Only: only what the website needs to work; no statistics, recordings or marketing
